Selma residents should be welcoming hosts

We all value convenience these days. We have our daily routines, and any wrinkle that costs us a few extra minutes or a little extra effort causes stress and frustration.
We are lucky to have a first-rate group of people invest their money, time and effort to create “Selma,” a film that will shine a spotlight on our city and show how important this town was to the history of the civil rights movement.
It won’t be easy. It won’t be convenient, and our daily routines might have to adapt to the road closures, but it will all be worth it.
Selma’s motto is “Historic Places and Social Graces.” The production crew is here making the most of the historic places, so let’s make sure we demonstrate our social graces.
One of the most important social graces we all possess is the ability to be welcoming, friendly hosts. Let’s demonstrate some true southern hospitality.
