A Selma native, currently serving in Congress, will hold a town hall meeting in her hometown Tuesday.

U.S. Rep. Terry Sewell, D-Ala., will host a “Congress in Your Community event to update constituents of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District and to address any concerns and questions. The meeting, which will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., will be held at the Larry Striplin Performing Arts Center in downtown Selma.

The visit is part of Sewell’s annual tour through the 14 counties that make up the 7th Congressional District.

“These town halls afford me the opportunity to address the concerns of my constituents and update them on legislative initiatives in Congress,” Sewell said in a release announcing the Selma event. “I received invaluable feedback during the 2013 town hall tour, and I am certain that this year’s tour through the district will continue to help me to better serve the needs of those I’m honored to represent.”
