A Montgomery man is dead as the result of a single-vehicle crash he was involved in Thursday evening on Old Montgomery Highway east of Selma.

Troopers said Jerry Tyus, 24, of Montgomery, died as the result of injuries received when the 2003 Chevy Tahoe he was driving left the roadway and overturned at 9 p.m. Thursday evening just outside the Selma city limits.

Tyus was not wearing a seat belt at the time the vehicle left the roadway

Troopers from the Alabama Highway Patrol Department could not offer further information into the wreck as the investigation is ongoing.
