The season to give continues after holidays

Thanksgiving has come, and Thanksgiving has gone.

But the time to serve those less fortunate is now.

Being Thanksgiving, Thursday was a day when churches and other charitable organizations reach out to the less fortunate, but such kindness shouldn’t be limited to holidays.

This is especially true in Selma, where there are so many who need our help.

On Thursday, Pastor John E. Grayson joined members of his Gospel Tabernacle Church in serving a Thanksgiving meal to residents of the Minnie B. Anderson neighborhood.

Residents of neighborhoods like Millie B. Anderson are in need of our help, and not just on Holiday’s.

Pastor Grayson said members of his church provide meals year-round to thousands of families throughout the Blackbelt.

Grayson said he, and the dozens of volunteers from his church, are well aware of the constant need of the less fortunate in our community.

Let us all come together, not just during this holiday season, and join Gospel Tabernacle and so many other churches and charitable organizations in and around Selma to help improve the lives of our neediest neighbors.
