Pastor Cyrus Fells Flanagan

Pastor Cyrus Fells Flanagan was born on June 12, 1956 in Orville, Alabama. The late Mariah Brown Flanagan and Cleo Flanagan, Orrville, AL., whom he called “Mama”, reared him. Cyrus was the son of loving parents Robert and Earnestine Hall, Tallahassee, FL and Johnny and Georgia Fells, Birmingham, AL. The Lord summoned him home on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at his home in Tallahassee, FL.

He was a 1974 graduate of Keith High School, and Saxophone Leader of the K.H.S. Marching Band.

Pastor Flanagan was saved by the power of Jesus Christ in 1974 while attending Florida A&M University on a Marching 100 Music Scholarship. It was there that God unlocked His purpose, plan and assignment for his life. Pastor Flanagan discovered at a young age that God called and commissioned him to raise, train and deploy spiritual leaders in the Earth for the manifestation of God’s glory.

In 1975, he became the group leader of the Tallahassee Prayer Group, which consisted of students from Florida A & M University, Florida State University, and Tallahassee Community College. Pastor Flanagan was licensed in 1978, ordained in 1982, and installed as Pastor in the church he founded, Family Worship and Praise Center in 1997. There, he assisted the Body of Christ in Mobilizing a Movement for His Manifestation.

Pastor Flanagan, a devoted and loving father to five daughters – CyKari, CyNedra, CyRhonda, CydNey and CynClaire, grandfather to Kinsley Dunn, Tallahassee, FL; brother to Melvin Flanagan Brown, Orrville, AL, Carolyn (Anderson) Ruffin, Shreveport, LA, Johnny (Ora) Bayne, Douglasville, GA; uncle to Renee (Wendell) Clark, Mesquite, TX, Andrell (Thanya) Ruffin, Dallas, TX, Arissa Renee Ruffin, Dallas, TX and Germaine Flanagan Brown, Orrville, AL.; great uncle to Jorian Clark, Mesquite, TX and Tamari Flanagan, Orrville, AL,; special cousins Atlee (George) Fells Clark, Montgomery, AL. and Roy (Shirley) Edwards, Orrville, AL. along with an abundance of other cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, September 27, 2013 from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Family Worship and Praise Center (1609 Branch Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303).
