A Selma man is recovering from two stab wounds following a Tuesday morning altercation with a woman in what was described as a domestic altercation.
According to a release from the Selma Police Department, officers responded to a call on the 400 block of Martin Luther King Street at around 7 a.m., where they found a black male, “in his 30s,” with a stab wound to his right shoulder and to his right side. They also found a woman, identified as Amber Martin, with a bite wound to her shoulder and a bleeding lip.
Lt. Curtis Muhannad, in the release, said the victim reported arriving home at approximately 6:30 a.m. after being away from home all night. When the victim was let into the home, a verbal altercation started, which led to the victim allegedly being assaulted by Martin.
The victim was transported to Vaughan Regional Medical Center by a privately owned car, where he was treated and released.
Muhannad said Martin was taken into custody and questioned. She was later charged for domestic violence assault second and placed in the Dallas County Jail under a $30,000 bond.
Domestic violence assault second is a Class C felony.
