Dallas County farmer Butch Wilson is featured in the new, awarding-winning Farming Feeds Alabama cookbook produced by the Alabama Farmers Federation.

Wilson raises catfish with his son, Travis, and son-in-law, Willard Powe, on their seventh-generation family farm near Browns. Wilson has been in the catfish industry since the mid-1980s.

The hardcover Farming Feeds Alabama cookbook features more than 200 recipes and 17 profiles on Alabama farmers representing the state’s top commodities. With exquisite food photography and a personal touch, the cookbook tells the stories of Alabama’s farmers and the food they grow. It covers six courses of recipes including appetizers, salads, soups, sides, entrees and desserts. The art of canning and preserving is outlined step-by-step to introduce a new generation to saving fresh produce.
