Youth league action continues at Dallas County Sportsplex

April 30:

Captain D’s 13, Robinson Legal 3 (9-10 boys)

Captain D’s scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a 5-2 lead over Robinson Legal and continued on from there. They added two more in the second and six more in the third and final inning.

T. Freeman had a single and a home run for Captain D’s in the win.

 

May 2:

Dallas Avenue Pharmacy 16, Lion’s Club 10 (9-10 boys)

After the second inning, Dallas Avenue Pharmacy and Lion’s Club found themselves tied at five runs each. After the third inning, the two teams were still tied; this time at 10 runs each. Then came the fourth inning.

In the fourth and final inning, Dallas Avenue exploded for six runs to pull out the 16-10 win.

Darrisu Ellis, Kashif Norwood and Christopher Gardner each scored three runs for Dallas Avenue, while Nathan Tate added two more runs. Thomas Smitherman, Ronald Thomas and Marcus Holman each scored two runs in the loss for Lion’s Club.

 

Pilcher-McBryde 12, Taylor Sports 2

(9-10 girls slow pitch)

Pilcher-McBryde put their game against Taylor Sports out of reach quickly, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning to pace them to a 12-2 win. Pilcher-McBryde added three more runs in the second and five more in the third to round out the scoring.

 

State Farm 14, Purdie & Sons 5 (14-under fastpitch)

After both teams failed to score in the first inning, State Farm began to light up the scoreboard in the second and third innings to claim a 14-5 win over Purdie & Sons.

D. Gill, K. Chaney and R. Edwards each had two runs in the win for State Farm.

 

Blue Ox 9, Cahaba Hospice 0 (7-8 boys)

Blue Ox used a consistent scoring offense to pull out a 9-0 shut out win over Cahaba Hospice. Blue Ox scored two in the first, one in the second, five more in the fourth and another in the fifth inning to end the scoring.

R. Williams had two home runs in the win.

 

Quality Trophy 6, Cash & Carry 4 (9-10 boys)

A four-run third inning proved to be the difference in Quality Trophy’s 6-4 win over Cash & Carry.

Trinstine Marshall had two runs for Quality Trophy in the win, while Malachi Walker added two runs for Cash & Carry.

 

Plantation Patterns 7, W.O.W. 4 (7-8 girls slow pitch)

Plantation Patterns was able to pull out their 7-4 win over W.O.W. thanks to a four-run fifth inning.

Both teams left the third inning tied at 3, but scores by L. Gordon, T. Carter, R. Parker and L. Edwards for Plantation Patterns proved to be the difference.

 

Carter Drug 9, ASU Alumni 5 (11-12 boys)

Nicholas Nettles and Tevin Carter each scored two runs to pace Carter Drug to a 9-5 win over ASU. Broderick Tripp scored twice for ASU.
