Edward Brown, 69 of Minter, was found walking in the 7000 block of Dallas County Road 4 early Wednesday morning after being reported missing.

Brown was reported missing Monday when family members were unable to find him and he left his car at a friend’s home.

Sgt. Mike Granthum, of the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, said a passerby found Brown walking along Dallas County Road 4, just a few blocks from his residence, between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday.

“He appeared to be in good mental health condition,” Granthum said. “He was sent to the hospital though for dehydration.”

Granthum said Brown showed no signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s and the sheriff’s department is still “putting the pieces together” in the investigation.

“We’re still working to get some details, there’s a lot of fuzzy areas,” Granthum said, adding that no foul play is suspected. “We’re trying to put the pieces together and find out where he was, who he was with and how he got to where he was.”

Granthum said Brown will be interviewed by the sheriff’s department Thursday to gain answers.
