Ramon Earl Carden, age 77, died Wednesday morning, December 19th at Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA.
Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue (Dickey) Carden, he leaves behind a daughter, Ramona Sue Arseneault of Woodstock, GA, who is married to Matthew Arseneault; a brother, Charlie Roscoe Carden of Marietta, Georgia, husband to Kathleen Carden; a sister, Virginia Marie VanOrman of Florida, wife to Miles VanOrman; a grandson, Michael; and many other wonderful family members and friends.
Born in Atmore, Alabama, the son of Earl Douglas and Bertha Rebecca (Rogers) Carden, he was raised in Alabama, and spent his last years in Marietta, Georgia. Mr. Carden was a life-long follower of Jesus Christ, and devoted many years to following his call in the Music and Youth ministry at several churches throughout Alabama and Georgia. He graduated with a Masters from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in the 1960s, after attending and graduating Georgia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Mr. Carden’s passion for music and impacting the lives of young people were second only to his love for Jesus Christ. He spent many years conducting the church choir, leading youth group and youth choir tours, and teaching young people about God’s love and how to live like Jesus and love Him more.
He loved his family and friends. He was a loving husband and father, and used to delight everyone as he would randomly break into song at the drop of a hat. His family and friends love him and miss him, but celebrate with him in the new life he has with Jesus Christ in Heaven.
Services for Mr. Carden will be officiated by Pastor Mel Deason at Liberty Church in Marietta, Georgia on December 22nd at 10am.
