G.W. Davidson, 94, passed away Dec 18, 2012. He was born Sept 26, 1918 in Ada, OK to Eunice & O.J. Davidson, Sr. He graduated from Ada High School. On Sept 25, 1940, he married the love of his life, VivianLou McAdams in Sulphur, OK. From 1944-1946, G.W. courageously & honorably served his county in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He worked as an electrician for Bordman Steel Co. in OKC from ’49-’65 before going to work at Tinker AFB until his retirement in 1985. When G.W. wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing at any place he could and spent a lot of time at his place at Lake Eufaula. He also volunteered with the OK County Jail Ministry, severed as a Boy Scout Leader with the Agnew Pentecostal Church troop, was a member of the Wiley Post VFW and attended New Life Worship Center (The Crown Center) for many years. A loving husband, devoted father and doting grandfather, G.W. will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Lindsay, Julian Jr., Albert, Glen & James; and his wife VivianLou. G.W. leaves behind his daughters: EraLou Divelbiss & husband, Ernest of Selma, AL and Eunice “Gene” Brawner & husband, Frank of Stratford, OK; brother in-law Raz W. McAdams of Wagoner, OK; 7 grandchildren: Martie Lilly, Jennifer Middlebrooks, Robin Fielder, Christy Robertson, Bryan Brawner, Kirk Divelbiss, and Adam Divelbiss; 18 great grandchildren and many extended family & countless friends. Viewing will be 4-8 PM Thursday & Friday at Vondel Smith Mortuary, S Lakes 4000 SW 119th St. OKC, OK 73173 with the family to receive friends 6-8PM Friday. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, Dec 22, 2012 at South Lakes Chapel (at the funeral home). Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Assoc. or the OK Heart Assoc.
