Thankful for the YMCA this season

Dear Editor,
As Thanksgiving weekend is here, I would like to say that I am very thankful to have such a great YMCA facility in Selma and Dallas County. The programs available for all ages in our community, the friendly and helpful staff, the two indoor pools, the connection with others in the community, the up-to-date weight room, the great place to have a child’s birthday party, the neat playground, the bowl of scripture strips made available at the front desk, all endear this place to our family.
My husband and I are lap swimmers and we are very thankful to have such a place to go daily to work out the kinks of aging in our joints.
If I had a million dollars I would give it to the YMCA so that it could pay on the mortgage and remain open. Alas, I do not, but want to encourage all who can to help in the fundraising drive and those who do not take advantage of this facility, join us for a Christian atmosphere that will refresh your body, soul and spirit. I hope the taxes to rooms at the hotels pass and can help the Brown YMCA also. Thanks so much to Bill Porter and staff and the Board of Directors for your efforts in making our Y as great as it is. I am thankful for all of you.
