Walter Blocton

Walter Blocton was born January 1, 1933 in Tyler, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of Weeping Willow Baptist church in Tyler, Alabama where he served faithfully for many years. He was a farmer and a successful business, owner of W & L Blocton Grocery. He was married to the Late Lola M. Blocton of Tyler, Alabama.
Gravesides services will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Darryl Moore and directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola M. Blocton; father and mother David and Mary Blocton; brothers, Jerimiah, David, Eldred, and Albert Blocton; sisters, Rosa Lowery and Mary Alexander; sisters-in-laws, Ida Blocton, Velma Blocton, and Bertha Blocton.
Survivors include brothers, Sinnie Blocton, Frank (Bernice) Blocton and Rev. Lee (Ivory) Goodwin all of Selma; sisters Minnie Albritton of Detroit, MI., Mr. Rosa Rawls of Chancelon, VA.; children, James (JoAnn) Stone of Fairfield, AL., Lola B. Rogers of Selma, Dorothy B. (Robert) McMullin of Alabaster, AL, Diane (Jessie) Boyd of Montgomery, AL, Frank (Chantel) Blocton of Selma, Tracie L. Blocton of Selma, and his special partner Sally Cole of Selma; brothers-in-laws, Prime Blue of Tyler, AL, Dr. Raymond Alexander
of Chesapeake, VA., and James (Rosetta) Hall of Selma; a host of grandchildren, great grand children, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
