In an effort to further grow reader input and comments on its website, The Selma Times-Journal will unveil a new reader feedback and comment feature on www.selmatimesjournal.com beginning Monday, Oct. 1.

The new features will open up the opportunity to offer comments and feedback on every article to online viewers — even those who do not have a paid online subscription.

“We’re deploying these features on our website in an effort to create more opportunities for people to comment on issues they feel are important to them and our community,” Times-Journal publisher Dennis Palmer said. “Not only will people be able to comment, they’ll be able to rate how they feel about a story and see how others feel about the story.

“In adding these features, we hope to make our website more interactive and this is our latest effort to accomplish that goal,” Palmer said.

The features are through an online vendor Disqus and are used on a wide-range of news sites throughout the country.

Those wanting to offer comments will still have to register through the comment feature, but this is a free registration process.

Readers who have an online subscription will have to register through this comment feature in order to comment as well.

This new registration is for the comment feature only.
