University of South Alabama athletic director Dr. Joel Erdmann told the members of the Selma Quarterback Club Monday the college football experience in Mobile is “right and only getting better.”
As the Jaguars are in the midst of their fourth season of collegiate football, they are looking ahead to next year of becoming a full-fledged member of the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision, what was once called Division 1.
Erdmann said the Mobile school already has the facilities and coaching staff to compete and has one of the largest season ticket bases in the Sun Belt Conference.
In addition to their conference schedule, the Jaguars have games this season against North Carolina State and a trip to Hawaii, while future schedules have home-and-home contracts with Oklahoma State, Mississippi State and Navy.
The Quarterback Club announced Monday future meetings will now begin at 6 p.m. with social hour, with the program beginning at 6:30 p.m.
