MONTGOMERY — The Meadowview Christian Trojans claimed their first victory of the season Friday, knocking off the Eastwood Christian Warriors 32-0 on the road.

Meadowview head coach Lebo Jones said his team played great on both sides of the ball and they even implemented things in practice he has been emphasizing the last few weeks.

“I didn’t like the amount of penalties we had but we played real well,” Lebo said. “We’ve just been stressing all week getting physical and playing tough and hitting harder and I think we achieved that tonight.”

Trojan quarterback Seth Taylor was 4-for-5 passing for 158 yards and one touchdown. Not far behind were running backs Joel Taylor and Dylan Lawrence, who combined to score four touchdowns.

Taylor scored three touchdowns and had 129 yards on 14 carries. Lawrence had one rushing touchdown with 64 total yards rushing and 60 yards receiving.

Jones said he was especially proud of how his players played Friday and said this win will help the team in the future. The Trojans will face off against Chambers next week at Wasden Field.

“I think its just going to give us some confidence going into next week I think we really feel like we can win now,” Jones said. “Just shutting them out and holding them to no points was what I was really proud of and the highlight of the game for me just not letting them score.”
