This week, all Dallas County offices will close for the Fourth of July holiday. They will remain closed from Wednesday, July 4 until Friday, July 6. The offices will reopen on Monday, July 9 at 8:30 a.m.

The district attorney office will close, but District Attorney Michael Jackson said there would still be people in the office that are on-call in case of emergency. He said that is the same case for other offices, such as the sheriff office, probation office, circuit clerk office, tax offices and tax collector office. The veteran’s affairs office will close, as well as the probate judge’s office, juvenile court, District Judge Bob Armstrong’s office, circuit court judge and the county commissioner’s office.

Larry Friday, director of Dallas County Environmental Services, said the district transfer stations, where people can dump their trash, in both the Orrville transfer station and the Alabama Highway 41 station, will be closed Wednesday.
