Just after a month after being named the interim CEO at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, David Sirk has earned the position permanently.
Monday, LifePoint Hospitals, of which Vaughan Regional Medical Center is a part, named Sirk CEO.
“We are fortunate to have David joining the team at Vaughan Regional on a permanent basis,” said Don Bivacca, president of the National Division of LifePoint Hospitals, in a press release. “He is a seasoned veteran of the healthcare industry, with a proven track record of leading hospitals in the delivery of high-quality medical care; supporting physicans in their pursuit of everyday excellence, and developing work environments that encourage satisfaction. I am confident that David is the right person to lead VRMC into the future.”
In the statement Bivacca, Sirk comes to Vaughan from One80 Interim Inc. of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he has served as CEO since forming the interim management and consulting services company in 2007.
Sirk holds a Master of Business Administration degree from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from West Virginia University.
Sirk and his wife Bonnie will be relocating from Mason, Ohio and look forward to becoming a permanent part of the Selma community.
Sirk replaces former CEO Barry Keel, who announced his departure from the hospital in April, to take over hospital operations in the Anniston and Gadsden area.
Vaughan reportedly employs more than 600 people and is a 175-bed facility.
