Mabel Caley Kelley Carlton, aged 95, of Marion Junction, AL, died on May 24, 2012.

Mrs. Carlton was born August 9, 1916, in Livingston, AL, the daughter of Helen and Albert Caley. She graduated from Selma High School, The University of Montevallo and received a graduate degree from Auburn University. She taught elementary education for many years in Marion Junction and Selma schools.

Mrs. Carlton enjoyed directing camp at Camp Grist in Selma, and was involved with multiple camps at Blue Lake United Methodist Assembly in Andalusia, Al for over

30 years. She was a charter member of Wesley Heirs, a group of retired ministers and spouses; Delta Kappa Gamma; The Marion Junction United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women and was the oldest member of the Marion Junction Community Club.

Mrs. Carlton is survived by her husband, Rev. Authur M. Carlton; children, Bill Kelley

(Barbara) of Royal Oak, MI; Helen Kelley Phillips of Hamilton, GA; Betty Kelley Blackwell and Kathleen Kelley Smith both of Marion Junction, AL; Arthur M. Carlton,

Jr. (Pat) of Fairhope, AL; Kay Carlton of Waynesville, NC; Pat Carlton Ramakrishnan (Dinakar) of Pasadena, CA; and Charles B. Carlton (Kelly) of Indian Springs, AL, and her brother Albert F. (Sonny) Caley Jr. of Marion Jct. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilbur B. Kelley, Sr. and brother Marshal S. Caley.

Her life was a testimony to the faith, love and personal relationship she had with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her heavenly Father used her continuously to love, counsel and influence without judgment. Her life was blessed with His grace and favor.

A Celebration will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at 2:00pm at Marion Junction United Methodist Church; fellowship and refreshments following, casual dress welcomed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion Junction United Methodist Church mission fund.
