Ms. Lena Belle Williams, resident of Selma, passed away April 12, 2012 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Miller Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Eddie Hill, Jr. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memorial Gardens directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.
Lena Belle leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memory a daughter, Dr. Olivia Parker Lanier Clay Vincent Aiken; former son-in-law, Felix Randolph Aiken; granddaughter, Marta Jean Aiken, MD; a devoted “adopted” son, John Henry Hicks; sister-in-law, Annie Vincent; three first cousins, Richard Hardy Howard, Althea (Reverend Adolph) Smith, and Willie Idella H. Benefield. Loving and supportive nieces and nephews; Maxie Lewis Hatcher, Hattie Hatcher, Howell (Lamar), Gussie Hatcher Witter (Nydrel), Reverend Willie Menzo Vincent, Jr., Juanita V Broughton, George Vincent (Shekeala), Annie Vincent Jackson, Carrie Vincent Clay King, Preston D. Chestnut, Jr., Frank Chestnut, Sr.(Joyce), Velneata Chestnut Hill, Bennie J. Clay, Harold Clay, Brenda C. Brumfield, Arneita C. Curtis (Cecil), Scottie Mae Vincent Jackson (Ulyses), Rauqal Vincent Allen. Grand nieces and nephews are Rheta J., Glen H, Marvin E., Maxine C., Olivia D., and Gregory L. Hatcher, Darryl Howell (Tonya), Ronald Howell (Laura), Reggie Howell (Ece), Rhonda Howell, Sandra Witter, Linda W. Lobban (Lenworth); La’Neata Nuckles (Anthony), Ayanna Scott (Larry), and a host of family and friends.
In her obituary notes, she has hand written this statement “ Our life is what we make of it. God let us use it for a short time, so it’s my time to answer (the) roll call.”
