Deborah Ann McCracken Cox

Deborah Ann McCracken Cox, age 55 of Alabaster, AL passed away April 17, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Alice Zimmerman McCracken, and her father Ernest Cork McCracken.
Mrs. Cox was Executive Director of New Beacon Hospice in Birmingham/Oneonta, Alabama. She was a 1975 graduate of Dallas County High School, Plantersville, Alabama and a 1980 graduate of the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Nursing. She was a member of the Alpha Omega Pi Sorority. Debbie received the Compassionate Care Award for Nurse of the year from Baptist Health System, Birmingham, AL in 1991. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church in Alabaster, AL.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Louis Cox; sons, Daniel Thomas Cox and Davis Louis Cox, Alabaster, Alabama; step-mother, Doris C. McCracken, and step-brother, Gary Brzuska (Debbie), Panama City, Florida; step-sister, Sheryl B. Shepard (Paul), Redland, California; aunt, Martha Z. Wright (Jack), Selma, Alabama; and numerous cousins.
Bandits Baseball Team will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Thompson High School Baseball Team.
Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Funeral Services will be Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with a 3 PM Graveside Service at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL.
