If you’re looking to save on children’s clothing and merchandise, the upcoming Little Lamb Consignment Sale is coming to a pasture near you.

The sale, which begins Friday, March 16 from 5:30 p.m. to Saturday, March 17 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. inside the Old National Guard Armory, will offer a variety of items including books, baby equipment, maternity clothing, ladies’ shoes and DVDs among others.

Misty Wilkinson, who helped to organize the event with Katrina Smith, said she expects the weekend’s event to be a success.

“I expect to have a great sale and a great turnout so we can have a good bit of money to donate to other charities,” Wilkinson said. “The seller gets 75 percent and 25 percent will be given to local charities.”

Shoppers, Wilkinson said, can expect “good quality clothing for decent prices.”

“It’s a great cause and a great ministry to families,” Wilkinson said. “Clothes are so expensive these days and it (the sale) just takes the ‘price shock’ off of it.”

Held twice a year, proceeds from the spring/summer and fall sale, have gone to such local organizations as the Selma-Dallas County Public Library, Selma Area Food Bank, Sav-A-Life and the Salvation Army.

“We only take spring and summer clothing during the spring sale — it’s great for Easter clothes,” Wilkinson said. “And in the fall, we take holiday stuff, Christmas, Halloween and fall (items) … strollers, highchairs and ‘Pack-in-Play’ (are) high sellers.”

Wilkinson said red-ticket items offered on Saturday will be half price. All sales are final and the program accepts cash only. For more information, call 877-1993.

Sponsors for the event include American Apparel, Blue Ox Equipment & Supply, The McHugh Wildlife, The Selma Times-Journal and Sears.
