TUSCALOOSA — The Wallace Community College Lady Patriots advanced in the state tournament Monday, beating Lawson State 67-56.

Ebony Smith led the way for Wallace, scoring 19 points, while Ashley Grimes added 15 points. Jibria Hooper added another 12.

Wallace will next take on Wallace-Hanceville, who beat Alabama Southern.

The Lady Patriots enter the tournament as the No. 1 seed and had a first round bye.
