Demopolis 51, Wilcox-Central 20

The Demopolis Lady Tigers earned a spot in the Class 5A Area 5 basketball tournament with a 51-20 win over Wilcox-Central Thursday night at Wallace Community College-Selma.

Demopolis head coach Tony Pittman said he was not pleased with his team’s performance, even in the win.

“We are going to go to the gym Friday and work. We need to run our offense much better than we did tonight if we are going to beat Selma,” Pittman said.

Regardless of the outcome Saturday, both Selma and Demopolis have earned spots in the Class 5A sub-region contests late next week.
