Shooting victim clings to life

A shooting early Thursday morning has left one man in critical condition and Selma Police scouring the area for a suspect.
According to Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley, police responded to a call on the 100 block of Tucker Avenue at 1:45 a.m. There, they found a bicycle and a large amount of blood in the roadway. What they did not find was a victim.
“When officers responded they learned the victim had been taken to the hospital by residents,” Riley said.
The victim reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to the right side of the face, left side of the hip area and left foot.
“He was later transported to a Montgomery hospital and remains in critical, but stable condition,” Riley said. “Right now, the investigation is continuing and we are continuing to look for a suspect.”
