For those who enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with last-minute Christmas shopping, one local organization has exactly what you need to satiate the euphoria.

The Selma Art Guild’s Christmas sale continues today from noon to 4 p.m. inside its location at 508 Selma Ave.

Guild president Sally Jordan said the sale offers residents and visitors a unique shopping experience.

“We have the jewelry, some of the small clay angels, we have a lot of special tree ornaments and we have the felt dolls and plus regular photos, art and painting,” Jordan said. “It’s a good place to buy something at the last minute and it’s also a place to bring visitors that’s nice and peaceful.”

Teacher and artist Jo Taylor said the guild offers something for everyone this holiday season.

“Unusual one-of-a-kind art gifts — it’s some very good art in this gallery,” Taylor said. “It’s very diversified; from photography, painting, watercolor, glass (and) pottery.”

Many, Jordan said, don’t know the guild exists and said the holidays are ideal to check things out.

“A lot of people in Selma need to just come by and look,” Jordan said. “They can go through (and) look at the art and look at what the town has to offer — unique things you probably won’t find any place else.”
