Andrew Monroe Allen, age 77, died Wednesday November 30, 2011. Mr. Allen retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years of service and also retired after 20 years from Wallace Community College. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Nita Allen. He is survived by his wife, Laura P. “Wallace” Allen; children, Marjorie Ann (Greg) Gentry of Deatsville, Andrew E. (Barbara) Allen of Selma, Victor (Kay) Swift of Selma and Wayne (Mary Ann) Swift of Meridian, MS; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Pat Labbe (Wayne) of Valley Grande, Vickie Booker (Rusty) of Valley Grande; 5 sisters and 2 brothers and his best friend and golfing partner Karl Smith.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 3, 2011 at Elkdale Baptist Church with Reverend Cory Horton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing and burial following in New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12-1 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Cobb, James Allen, Drew Allen, Wayne Labbe, Rusty Booker, Dr. Chris Swift, Timmy Hatfield and DeWayne Bowden. Honorary pallbearers will be Rush Sunday school class, and all great-grandsons.
