Wilcox bust nets multiple charges

A combined force of more than 10  law enforcement agencies recently swept through Wilcox County making numerous  arrests and confiscating several different forms of narcotics.

The raid was executed by the Fourth Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force and officers from the Wilcox County Sheriff’s Department, Camden Police Department, 17th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, Clarke County Drug Task Force, Clarke County Sheriff’s Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, Thomasville Police Department, Marengo County Sheriff’s Department and K-9 units for the Alabama State Trooper Aviation unit.

A search warrant was executed on Pettway Lane in Camden at the residence of Sandy Pettway, who was arrested on a grand jury indictment of  three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and a new charge of unlawful possession of crack cocaine.

Terrell Fairley was also taken into custody during a search on Meadowbrook Curve on charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

A search on Harrell’s Road also led to the arrest of Cedric Mendenhall, who was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of crack cocaine, unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and resisting arrest.

Crack cocaine, marijuana, assorted pills, drug paraphernalia, weapons and money were all confiscated.

Other arrests and indictments included Marvin Eaton, Kenneth Bennett,  Calvin Blackmon, Carl Davis Jr., Octavia Price, Roderick McMillian,  Frederick McMillian, Jimmy Joe Jackson, Jeremiah Jackson, Oscar Irby, Kendrick Higginbotham, John Wesley Hicks, Jessica Collins, Travis Dukes, Raymond Pettway, Willie McConnico, and Jermaine McCampbell.
