Elizabeth Sydney “Syd” LaPorte, age 55, passed away Monday, November 7, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Houston Lollar and Elizabeth Wilkinson Lollar; and sister, Anne Quitman Maddox.

She is survived by her husband: Glenn LaPorte, Sister: Mary L. Hostetter, of Stafford, VA, children: Rene’ Pouncey(Josh), of Pleasant Hill, Amy Reeves(Edgar), of Selma, Sydney Griffin(Daryl) of Valley Grande, Lee LaPorte, of Valley Grande, Marguerite Curry (Hobson) of Valley Grande; and Frank LaPorte of Selma; grandchildren, Cullen Nickles, Sarah, Dayton, and Myles Reeves; Jackson and Marlee Griffin; Madison, Foster, and Whitt Curry.

She worked as an OR nurse for more than 20 years and most of her career was at Vaughan Regional Medical Center.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 10, 2011 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Reverend Joe Knight officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Wednesday November 9, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Josh Pouncey, Edgar Reeves, Hobson Curry, Daryl Griffin, Roger Goodman, and Cullen Nickles.

Honorary pallbearer will be Trey Griffin.
