The Alabama Independent School Association All-Star Volleyball game will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. at Kingwood Christian School in Alabaster.

Morgan Academy head coach Jennifer Moore has been selected as one the coaches for the East All-Stars, while Senators’ senior Morgan Smith has been selected as one of 12 players on the East All-Stars and Meadowview senior Katey McIntyre has been selected to play on the West All-Stars team.

Moore said it’s an honor to be selected and to be coaching one of her own in the game.

“It’s an honor, especially since my team didn’t make it the Final Four, it’s just nice to be asked back after coaching in it for two years,” Moore said. “It’s always nice to have one of the girls go and it’s really fun for the girls and it’s fun to coach these girls from teams you’ve been playing against all year. That’s what makes it fun for the girls is that they’ve been playing against these other girls all season, and now they get to be on a team with them.”

Smith said the All-Star game will present a chance to meet some new friends, as well as play one more game.

“I feel very honored and I’m excited to meet new girls and make new friends,” Smith said. “I’m excited and I’m glad to have one more game for my senior year.”

McIntyre said she is honored to be regarded as one of the best players in the state.

“I’m very honored to be chosen,” McIntyre said. “I take it as a great honor because there are so many great volleyball players in the state and it’s just an honor to be chosen as one of them.”
