The weather was perfect for the recent fourth annual Riverdale Golf Tournament that raised $2,553 to help in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.
Twenty-seven teams took part in the 18-hole, four person scramble held at the Valley Grande Golf Course. Participants included IP employees, retirees and their immediate family members.
Trophies were awarded for first, second and third Place finishers. There were also prizes for Closest to the Pin and Long Drive.
Proceeds from the Tournament, along with a contribution from International Paper Riverdale Mill, will join together in the fight against Muscular Dystrophy.
The golf tournament was organized by Riverdale Maintenance employees Tony Mehan, Dexter DeRamus and Steve Johnson.
Funds will be donated through the team “J.C. Gang” to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. J.C. Gang is a group of Riverdale employees, friends and family members of J.C. Higginbotham, who suffers from Muscular Dystrophy. J.C. is the grandson of longtime Riverdale Maintenance employee Phillip Higginbotham and has served as an MDA ambassador in the past.
