Percy Henry Brown, 82 of Selma, died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, July 2, 2011, at New Sister Spring Baptist Church with Pastor Karl Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Family Cemetery under the direction of J. H. Williams and Sons. Repast will be held at Ellwood Christian Academy. Percy attended the Dallas County School System where he graduated from Knox Academy in 1949. He joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War in which he was honorably discharged in June 1955. Percy leaves to cherish his memory, loving wife Sharon Ann (Sherian); four loving and devoted children, Reginald Jones of Jersey City, NJ, Michael D. Brown of Lexington, KY, Quentin F. Brown of Sandy Springs, GA, and Shanna L. Brown of Southfield, MI, two stepsons, Clarence(Rosalyn) Williams, Pico Rivera, CA, Kenny (Melissa) Williams ,Baton Rouge, LA, one loving sister Dorothy(Larry) Turner, Chicago, IL, three brothers, Willie “Bill” Brown (Lilly) and Otto (Brazell) Brown of Detroit, MI, and Lloyd “Joe” Brown, Selma, AL; eighteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pallbearers will be Reginald Jones, Michael Brown, Quentin Brown, Quentin F. Brown, Michael Calhoun, Anthony Calhoun, Rayfield “Amos” Brown, and Wil Morgan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Williams, Kenny Williams, Willie Brown, Otto Brown, Lloyd “Joe” Brown, and Leonard Stephens.
