Ruth Lenoir Hammond, age 82, the daughter of the late Arsie and the late Lula Lenoir. Ruth left this earth on June 16, 2011 at the Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL.

Ruth loved her home and worked endlessly on the “farm” that she and Howard operated for almost 60 years. She enjoyed her flowers, quilts, and beloved pets.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Arsie and Lula Lenoir, and her sister, Lennie Laverne Klinner.

She leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Howard Lee Hammond; Daughters, Debbie Hammond (Thomas) Athey and Donna Hammond (Richard) Babin; Grandchildren, Rebecca Athey (Robert) McClellan and Howard Dakota Babin; Great Grandchild, Thomas Clay McClellan.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2011 from 5-8pm at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home, located at 1709 Lay Dam Road in Clanton.

In accordance with Ruth’s request, graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00am from Mt. Carmel Baptist Church #2 Cemetery in Maplesville, AL with Rev. Lynn Roe officiating.
