Mr. Charles Rentz Moore

Mr. Charles Rentz Moore, age 64, passed away June 4, 2011 at his home in Freeport, Florida.  He was born August 11, 1946 in Selma, Alabama.

Mr. Moore was a resident of Freeport, Florida.  He was an active member of the South Walton First Baptist Church of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida until his failing health.  He graduated from Orrville High School, Orrville, Alabama in 1965.  He was in the Merchant Marines and was on tour of duty for two years.  Until his failing health he was employed with Silver Sands Mall Properties as Supervisor of Engineering and Security in Destin, Florida.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was happiest when in the presence of family and friends.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a daughter, Artie Glen Moore, his parents, Fred Charles and Mary Elizabeth Rentz Moore, his grandparents and a nephew.

Mr. Moore is survived by his loving wife, Joan Frith Moore of Freeport, Florida. His children, Clarence Charles Jeremy Moore (Rebecca), Mount Hope, Alabama, LeAnn Ellen Moore Shipman, Butler, Pennsylvania, Christopher Rentz Moore, Winter Park, Florida, John Anthony Melton, Marion Junction, Alabama, Jennifer Melton Thornton, Selma, Alabama.  Grandchildren Charles Dylan Moore, Sklar Autry Moore, John Jacob Shipman III, Nicholas Payton Shipman, Clayton Frank Thornton, Cade Melton and Hannah Grace Thornton.  Sisters, Margaret Elizabeth Moore Griffin, Kitty Grey Moore Kynard; brothers, Dr. William Fred Moore, George Robert Moore, Jack Douglas Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation services were held 10:00~11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at South Walton First Baptist Church 24388 US Highway 331 South; Santa Rosa Beach, Florida  32459  followed by, Funeral services at 11:00 AM, with Dr. Walt Campbell officiating. Graveside services were held  at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Orrville Cemetery in Orrville, Alabama the Reverend Joel Farrow officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers for the graveside service were Charlie Sims III, Dan Edwards, Wayne Little, Willard Luker, Clete Verhoff, Johnny Calhoun and Wallace Walker.
