Selma softball falls to Demopolis

Demopolis hit early and often, in Selma Friday.
The Tigers (20-7, 2-0) overpowered the Saints to the tune of a 16-1 win.
“They just overwhelmed us,” Selma head coach Morgan Boyd said. “We weren’t the same team that came out and played against Dallas County (in a 3-1 loss) and they beat us because of it.”
The Tigers had no problem scoring, in part by a barrage of errors in the second inning by Selma, in the five innings win and look to continue that trend said assistant coach Joey Browder.
“We have hit the ball well this season,” Browder said. “Except for a couple of games there, we have gotten it done at the plate.”
The Saints must now pick up the pieces before continuing region play against Greenville next week.
“We need to play smarter and work a little harder in the field,” said Boyd. “We made too many errors tonight. When you make mistakes like that, you can’t win games no matter who you play against.”
