The Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce will hold a business after hours tonight from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at BankTrust’s downtown location on Broad Street.
The informal, monthly event encourages businesses and potential customers to exchange business cards and information and network. BankTrust is sponsoring the event.
“It’s been very successful in the past,” Sheryl Smedley, executive director of the Chamber, said. “It’s an informal business gathering of professionals and people prefer to meet after work to have the opportunity to mingle.”
Government officials, accountants, retailers, bankers and others have the opportunity, Smedley said, to make connections within the community.
Wayne Vardaman, president of Selma-Dallas County Center for Commerce and EDA executive director, has attended many of the events in the past and recommends it.
“Anything that can be done to bring businesses together to share ideas, to talk and to network is definitely a good thing,” Vardaman said.
The event will be held at BankTrust, located at 310 Broad St. The Broad Street and back parking lot entrances will be opened.
