A Selma man has been charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Selma narcotics officers arrested Kenrick Oneal Holmes, 22, Thursday.

Selma Police Sgt. Doug Stewart said narcotics officers were in the 1900 block of Keller Avenue when they spotted several subjects, standing near vacant lots.

“When the officers exited their vehicle and walked toward the subjects, they began to run,” Stewart said. “Officers checked the area that the suspects fled from and noticed a clear bag that contained a green leafy substance.”

Stewart said inside the clear back were 22 individual clear bags packaged for sale.

Other officers checked the area for suspects on the run and located Holmes.

Holmes is under a $50,000 bond at the Dallas County Jail
