Selma police are searching for a man who robbed a 23-year-old woman at gunpoint early Friday morning.

Sgt. Doug Stewart said the woman told officers she was sitting in her vehicle in the 100 block of Green Street when a man came up to the car, pointed a gun at the woman and her friend and snatched the woman’s purse.

The offender fled on foot.
