Columnist set for Lunch at the Library

The Selma-Dallas County Library announced it is welcoming a well-known, nationally syndicated columnist to speak at its Lunch at the Library on Jan. 13.

Columnists Rheta Grimsley Johnson, a writer whose column appears in newspapers throughout the south, will attend the library’s event scheduled to begin at noon. Following the lunch and her speech, some of Johnson’s books will be available for purchase and she will be available for autographs.

The new book covers a wide range of life memories for Johnson, including her growing up in Alabama through her journalism career. It also includes stories of some of her “adventures” and insights into life.

Her career has included covering the south for more than three decades as a newspaper reporter and columnists.

She studied at Auburn University and has called the Southeast her home her entire life.
