Clyde Quillion Carter, 88, a lifelong resident of Billingsley, AL, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Traywick Carter, Prattville, AL; one daughter, Peggy (Luke) Granthum,; three sons, Roger (Sandra) Carter; Terry (Charlene) Carter; and Ron Carter; sisters, Margie Rhodes, Louise Smitherman, Shirley Smitherman and Sybil Alburg; brothers, Gordon Carter and Tom Carter; 6 grandchildren, Mark (Carol) Carter, Mike (Lisa) Carter, Kristen Lawrence, Craig (Kim) Carter, Dale (Brooke) Carter and Lynn (Mike) Grey; 12 great grandchildren, Nathan, Cameron, Caroline Grace, Brandon, Brian, Dane, Christopher, Johnathon, Meredith, Caroline Brook, Ethan and Eli. He was preceded in death by a very special son-in-law, Luke Granthum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie instate at the church thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be at Ridout’s Prattville Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in his honor to the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
