Mr. George Simmons, 51, resident of Orrville, Alabama passed away December 13, 2010 at Vaughan Regional Hospital. Service are scheduled for December 18, 2010, 1:30 p.m. at John the Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Curtis Williams. Burial will follow in New Bethel Church Cemetery directed by Miller Funeral Service of Selma.

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by son, Furnell G. Simmons.

Survivors include spouse, Merline Simmons; mother-n-law, Fannie Hasberry; one daughter, Courtney (Eddie) Anderson; eight brothers, John Lee (Ammie) Simmons, Eddie (Dale) Simmons, Jessie (Michael Ann) Simmons, Leroy Simmons, J.B. (Minister Corine) Simmons, Johnny (Lois) Powell, Rev. S.P. Powell, Sylvester (Joyce) Powell; seven sisters, Lucille Taylor, Gussie (Eugene) Scott, Roberta (Jerry) Perry, Mae Willie Simmons, Carrie Carter, Annie Jones, and Mary (Nexton) Marshall; two grandchildren, one son-in-law, four brothers-in-laws, seven sisters-in-laws, and a host of nieces and nephews. Other relatives include special cousins, Roosevelt Simmons, Randolph Hatcher, and Jimmy Sanders.
