Genevieve Creagh Poulsen, age 89, of Cumming, GA, passed away December 15, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve Smith Creagh and John Wesley Creagh, husband, Otto LeGrand Poulsen, and brother, Harry Smith Creagh.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Lee Poulsen Jones (Sidney) of Gainesville, FL, son, John Otto Poulsen (Karen) of Cumming, GA, grandsons Mark Charles Poulsen of Charleston, SC and John Christian Poulsen of Cumming, GA.

Services will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Selma. The family will greet friends at 10:30 A.M. prior to the service at the Tipton Parlor at St. Paul’s.

Mrs. Poulsen was born in Selma on June 1st, 1921. She graduated from Selma High School in 1939 and Montevallo College in 1943. After graduation, she worked in the Quarter Masters Office at Craig AFB.

After retiring from the Circuit Clerk’s office of the Dallas County Court House, she moved to Winter Park, FL in 1976 where she worked for several years at the University of Central Florida. She was a member of St. Paul’s in Selma and All Saints Episcopal Church in Winter Park until her recent move to Cumming, GA.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Victor B. Atkins II, John Hans Poulsen, Jr., Richard W. Kerlikoske, Dr. Caldwell Debardeleben, Jefferson G. Ratcliffe, Ralph N. Hobbs, and Robert H. Young, Jr.

The family would like to thank the staffs at both Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Selma and Laurel Creek Manor in Cumming for their kindness and devotion to her care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
