Wright-Bellizaire exchange vows

Edith Eloise Wright and Paul Brandon Bellizaire were united in marriage on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10:30 in the morning at First Presbyterian Church of Selma. Dr. Ronald Stone officiated the ceremony. Music was provided by Sarah Cater Morelock, organist and First Presbyterian Church Choir. Soloist included Penny Williams of Selma, Alabama and Margaret Priest of Novi, Michigan, cousin of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Claudia Lampkins Wright and Willis L. Wright, Jr. of Selma, Alabama.

The groom is the son of Patricia Christopher Bellizaire and Roland Bellizaire of New Roads, Louisiana.

Grandparents of the bride are the late Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lampkins and the late Dr. and Mrs. Willis L. Wright, Sr.

Grandparents of the groom are the late Mr. and Mrs. Kerney Christopher and the late Ms. Enola Collins.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was dressed in a formal diamond white satin gown. The soft sweat heart bodice was lined with princess seams which complemented the A-line pleats of the cathedral length skirt. Beautiful beading and embroidery blanketed the entire gown. The two-tiered fingertip veil was edged in Swarovski crystals which matched her costumed made Swarovski crystal shoes. The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, roses, and stephanotis with accents of red coffee beans throughout the bouquet. Draped from the bouquets was the bride’s great grandmother’s crystal rosary.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Monique Terry of Washington, D.C. Bridesmaids were Keokah Sanders of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Andrea Augustine of Las Vegas, Nevada. The bridesmaids wore strapless deep red taffeta slim A-line knee length dresses with pleated bodice and skirt.

The junior bridesmaid was the bride’s niece, Jia Miana Wright of Nashville, Tennessee. She wore a spaghetti strapped deep red taffeta slim A-line tea length dress with pleated bodice and ruffled under skirt.

They all carried bouquets of miniature orange calla lilies, red and orange roses, and purple aster surrounded by green coffee beans.

Michael Lee of Houston, Texas served as best man. Groomsmen were Reginald Bellizaire of Houston, Texas , brother of the groom and Patrick Donald of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The junior groomsman was Willis L. Wright, IV of Nashville, Tennessee, nephew of the bride.

Ushers were Corbin Wright of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, nephew of the bride, Anthony Augustine of Las Vegas, Nevada and Michael Derson of New Roads, Louisiana.

Hostesses were Chanel Mobley of New York, New York, Marie King of Auburn, Alabama, Jenesis Safford of Birmingham, Alabama, Rosemary Dunning of Mount Holly, North Carolina, cousin of the bride, Marsha Sumner of Orlando, Florida, cousin of the bride, Patricia Johnson of Warner Robbins, Georgia, cousin of the bride and Diane Bell of Selma, Alabama.

Scripture reading was read by Cory Wright of Selma, Alabama, brother of the bride. Shonda Yvette Wright, the bride’s sister directed the wedding.

The wedding reception was held at the Vaughan-Smitherman Museum. The couple will reside in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
