Two burglary suspects who were pursued by the Selma Police Department Tuesday are in custody.

According to Selma Police Department Sgt. Doug Stewart officers apprehended Derry Stewart, 42, of Selma and Eugene Olds, 21, of Selma and charged the pair with burglary, third degree.

Stewart said officers were called to the 2600 block of Old Montgomery Highway Tuesday in response to a burglary.

Employees of the business, he said, saw several subjects inside the building.

Once officers arrived on the scene the subjects fled on foot and after a short pursuit officers were able to arrest the pair.

Stewart and Olds were taken to the Dallas County Jail where they are being held on $30,000 bond.
