Elizabeth Newman Brown, age 77, died at her daughter’s home on October 5, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. Newman and Georgia Wade Harper.

Ms Brown was born in Selma on July 3, 1933 and baptized at the First Presbyterian Church.

Her grandparents, Dr. William Wade Harper and Rosa L. Frantz Harper, were long time residents of Selma.

She is survived by her three children; Karen McGuiness of Hudson, Massachusetts, Joy Byrnes of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Robert C. Brown of Potomac Falls, Virginia; and by seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Saturday October 9 at Old Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.
