Mattie Francis Pendarvis, age 87, of Selma, AL, passed away October 4, 2010.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Pendarvis; brothers, Tom Herrod and Dr. Henry (Ozzie) Herrod and sister-in-law, Hazel Herrod. She is survived by her brother, William E. “Bill” Herrod, sister, Doris Herrod Buckley and numerous

nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Plantersville Christian Cemetery with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Charles Stough, Steve Herrod, Larry Herrod, Ted Buckley, Jeffrey Herrod and Robert Pennington.

Mrs. Pendarvis graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Secretarial Science. She was a piano teacher and Sunday School teacher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Asera Care Hospice, 1013 Medical Center Pkwy., Selma, AL 36701or a favorite charity.
