Four property owners cited for ‘dangerous buildings’

Four property owners in Selma soon will receive a certified letter from the Selma city clerk notifying them they have 45 days to bring up their properties to code regulations or the city will do it for them.

The Selma City Council declared the four structures as unsafe Tuesday during its meeting. Now, the process begins for these property owners to either contest the building inspector’s findings, to take care of the issue or to do nothing and allow the city to demolish the property.

•807 Broad St., Ward 3, owned by Henry Sanders and Faya O.R. Toure, Selma

•822 First Ave., Ward 7, owned by Ruthie Perry as trustee for Jalyrica Perry, Selma

•528 Second Ave., Ward 7, owned by Samuel L. Jones-Carrie L. Jones, Washington, D.C.

•1412 Union St., Ward 7, owned by Collins Pettaway Sr., Birmingham
