Stewart Rutherford Cothran, 47, a resident of Lake Jordan, Alabama, passed away August 25, 2010.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church, Selma, Alabama, with the Reverend Cecil Williamson officiating.
He is survived by a brother; Edward G. Cothran, Jr. (Carla Ross Cothran) of Pell City, Alabama; two sisters, Catherine J. Cothran of Mobile, Alabama, and Margie Cothran
Newbrough of Lake Jordan, Alabama; three nephews, David E. Cothran of Cincinnati, OH, Luke R. Cothran of Auburn, Alabama, and Timothy D. Newbrough, II (Angela Nichols Newbrough) of Wetumpka, Alabama; two nieces, Lynn Dixon of Mobile, Alabama, and Lisa Easterling of Birmingham, Alabama and one great-niece, Alexis Lee Newbrough and one great-nephew, Timothy D. Newbrough, III, both of Wetumpka, Alabama.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Cothran, formerly of Selma and Greensboro, Alabama, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil D. Cothran, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Quinn L. Stewart, Sr. all of Greensboro, Alabama.
Stewart grew up in Selma and was a 1981 graduate of John T. Morgan Academy in Selma, Alabama.
He spent most of his adult life a resident of Daytona Beach and Ocala, where he leaves behind many friends.
Stewart was an avid Auburn football fan and NASCAR fan.
Stewart was diagnosed with metastasized stage 4 pancreatic cancer
