Glover ends time at Selma

Selma City Schools will say farewell to nine-year employee Maria Glover, current chief school financial officer.

Glover will resign Aug. 23 to pursue a new opportunity as to Fairfield City Schools in Jefferson County as CSFO.

“I am thankful to the current and past board members, superintendents, administrators and staff for mentoring me, professionally, in my nine-year tenure with Selma City Schools,” Glover said. “I have gained valuable knowledge, skills and relationships that will never be forgotten.”

She began working with Selma City Schools in 2001 as a federal programs bookkeeper. She then worked in payroll in 2005 and then became CSFO in 2007.

“We wish her well, but we hate that she is leaving,” said Henry Hicks Sr., school board president.

School board members will begin searching for a new CSFO immediately.

The position must be advertised for 14 days before the board can begin the interviewing process.
