Margaret Lambert

Margaret (Meg) Stringer Lambert passed away at her home in Prattville, Alabama, on June 9, 2010.
She was born in Selma, Alabama on August 10, 1941, to John Bryant and Margaret Clark Stringer.
She grew up in the community of Pleasant Hill, Alabama.
She graduated from Parrish High School in Selma and earned a Bachelor of Science
Degree from Auburn University.
Meg married Joseph Smith Lambert on June 20, 1975 and joined him at Lambert Construction Company in Prattville, Alabama.
In 2000, she opened HomeTouch Builders where she designed and drew plans for both companies.
In 1989, she was chosen as builder of the year by the Greater Montgomery Home Build-
ers Association and in 1990, she was named Woman of the Year by the Montgomery Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction.
In 1997, she and her husband, Joe were inducted into the Hall of Fame by the GMHBA. She has served on the Board of Directors for the GMHBA and served on the Prattville Planning Commission and Autauga County Heritage Association.
Meg served as president of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association and was the first president of the South Dallas Historic Preservation Association and currently serving
on the Board of Directors.
She has conducted extensive research in genealogy and local history and authored A History of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1840-1990.
She is an accomplished artist.
Meg and her husband, Joe are current members of Heritage Baptist Church in Prattville. She was predeceased by her parents and her daughter, Susan Mayo Buchner.
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Smith Lambert; sons, George Bryant and wife, Tina Frazer Buchner of Tallahassee, Florida and Robert Carson and wife, Kristen Broadway
Buchner of Prattville; brother, John Bryant Stringer, Jr. and wife, Suzanne of Pleasant Hill.
Also surviving are step-sons, Joseph Smith Lambert, Jr. and wife, Mary Lou of Orange City, Florida and Robert Maxon Lambert of Montgomery; grandsons Will, Carson, Jeb and David Buchner of Tallahassee and Jonathan and Garrett Buchner of Prattville, Joe Lambert III and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Sarah Kate Lambert of Orange City.
In addition, she is survived by an uncle, F.L. Clark of Huntsville and an aunt, Louise Clark Carter of Mobile.
A service to honor and celebrate Meg’s life will be held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill, Alabama on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. central time with Rev. George Jones, Sr., Dr. Dave Thomas and Rev. Roger Parks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
